For example,

I used $ 21.00 to pay for all my expenses. I sell each product for  $ 2.00.  Our goal is to sell 16 face paints that will make our income $32.00. Our profit will be $11.00

Staying Sporty

This is my writing assessment. I have tried to independently improve my sentences. I am looking to check that they make sense. I am checking my punctuation. I think that I was successful at organising my sentences.

Staying Sporty

I strongly believe that sports is way more important than music. Some people think that music is more better than sports, but they are wrong. Sports is more important than music.

Firstly, Why I say that sports is vital for you is because. What are you going to do about your health when you're listening to music? Infact, is it going to do to your health? It definitely is not going to make you fit that’s for sure. Well, if you play or do something sporty then yes it will be good for your health. I mean right? If you didn’t do any sports then your health won’t be as good as it can be.

Secondly, why I say that sports is vital for your health is because when you at least play or do something sporty it’s an it helps your health. Sometimes it can be an effective way for having a good health and that’s what everyone wants right good health? I would want that.  it’s very appalling to see your not even trying to be sporty not even in the littlest way. Come on New Zealand  don’t you want to be part of the Olympic. I would if I could. Be fit think about your health come on.

Lastly, why I think being sporty is good for you is because when you do just the littlest thing you are trying to be sporty. I mean wouldn’t you be trying? I think you would be and I know you would be. Don’t you think it’s fun in the littlest way? I find it very entertaining in every way because it’s good and beneficial for my health and yours’. Go outside don’t be a potato couch the dirt won’t hurt you. Believe me, you would not want to be the loner the one who never talks to others. Come on go outside even for a minute make your adrenaline pump.  

In summary, As I said before I strongly believe that sports is way more important than music. Be healthy and fit on every way.

Self reading

Today me and my class did self reading and I read the wringer and this is also my novel study. I think that I did okay but next time I will do better. I hope you enjoy.

This week we were doing some problem solving, to learn about place value. WALT: Learn to share ideas with other people.

WALT improve our vocabulary by using words and phrases that enhance the feeling of our recounts (fear or sadness)

In class I needed to write a recount from the perspective (view) of a child working in a sweatshop. I chose to be a kid working in a Hasbro work shop. I think that I was successful because, I use descriptive words and phrases to enhance the mood of fear or sadness.

In writing I was learning how to use disruptive words and different moods like fear and sadness.

On Thursday I was late for work.

When I walked in the boss stormed out his office. “Is this a joke to you!” He said with a frightening voice. “ No I, sorry i’ll never be late again” my heart pouned like a drum.

As I sat down to have lunch I reminded myself about this morning “I never want to feel like that again” I said to tyra; Out of everyone in the factory my only friend was Tyra she was the only person that was nice to me.  

We worked all day sometimes I wish I could go to school. At 6:00 pm. We all had a one minute break even that wasn’t enough time to eat. As we all went back to work I saw a worker fanit. My body froze in shock. My boss came down “What happened wake her up and tell her to get back to work” he shouted. An  hour later, the worker woke up. “Master said to tell you to get back to work” I had said with a frown.

At 10:00pm,  I felt like I will never live the dream of going to school and getting a family of my own I thought to myself. As I sat there eating my lunch I could feel happiness bubbling throughout me, for I knew it was almost bed in 30 min. But as I just felt like that the boss came out and said. “You can all work for another hour” he said with no sadness. I worked to 11:00pm. I was so happy that the day was over.

Numbers

Last week I was learning about how important it is to read instructions properly and to look at the key in graphs.

Here are a few problems I worked on. It is important that I look at the key because it tells you how much it is like a whole is 6, half is 3 and 2 is a quater.

                  Money Made at the Garage Sale

Key: =  $ 6 & = $ 3

How much money was made on Tuesday?  We went  like this  6x4=24 and then i add the 3 to make 27 so that how much there are on Tuesday.

How much more money was made on Wednesday? for this one we went like this 2x3=6.

How much more money was made on Monday than Thursday? 30-18= 12 so the answer is 12.  

On A Roll!

WALT improve our writing by carefully checking our sentences and trying to add descriptive language. 

I think I need to learn more about descriptive language a bit more and use punctuation better

                                          Playing board games and waiting for the cabin

On one breezy day as I was looking outside I was tempted to go play with someone. But you know how it goes right? When you want to play with someone or do something but they don’t want too. Well, that’s what i’m talking about but one thing that they wanted to play can you guess?  It was board games like Snake s and Ladders, Guess Who? And Monopoly baking. A few minutes later, guess what showed up in my mailbox? My slime I ordered off Wish.

“YAY!” I yelled like a wild horse.   

                                                            Shonagh moved in,   

When I was going into the kitchen for a snack I may have overheard that my sister Shonagh was going to move back in. Then I said to my sister. “D’Jahn D’Jahn I overheard Mum talking on the phone. Shonagh ’s cabin is coming here today!” I said with so much joy. “Really? Or is this one of your made up stories?” D’jahn said with a big frown. “Really she is!” I said with a big smile on my dail. By the time i just told her Shonagh showed up she gave us a hug and said “I’m moving back in ” she said with loving eyes. And that filled my heart with joy.

My reflection

My feeling that day was happy, joy and excitement knowing that Shonagh was going to move back in.

On one lovely Friday afternoon just as I woke up from a nana nap there was something very odd by me. “Ahhh help some one want’s to eat me!” I gulped. But when I got up it was just a kitten a harmless one too. Dad dashed into the room as fast as he could. “ Are you okay?” he quavered. Just by looking into his face you could see that he was very worried. “I’m just fine dad are you okay?”   I said with a smile on my face. “ of course I am“ he said. His face lit up with joy.

After that I went outside with with my most beloved sister Shonagh. “What is this?” I boasted. “you found my gem! Where was it.” She said happily. Then joy left Shonagh face alone and I can say that twice. A while later, dad came into the room. “What’s going on in here” he bragged. “Nothing much” Edward said like he didn’t care. That’s true he never cares about anyone but the truth is the truth I mean right?.          

                                                                         Why?    

“Give it back to me!” she nagged maybe 1,000 times. “Fine” I replied with a groan but that’s only because she was chasing me around. At night I thought to myself why did i find it and how did I find it and why did I give it to her? That will alway remain in my head. Also the way Shonagh was crying she could flood the whole house soon!.     

                                                   

                                                      My Reflection              

I will never forget the part when I saw my mum filled with joy and my feeling’s that day was pretty funny feeling.

Topic: Toxic things

One big problem is that workers are getting sick all because of making the newest tech. It's killing them, also they need the money to help their family and feed them. They don’t know how much of a risk it is to work there everyday soon or later they're going to hurt themselves or, kill themselves.

People are working in factories and because of this they are killing themselves.

I know I was successful because I used cause and effect connectives and others.

Let's Dance!

In our class we are learning about elements of dance. The dance element are body awareness, space and time. The ideas I like dancing to are growing also moonwalk and  many others.
We are making a class dance based on E-waste.

What things are  E-waste? well E-waste are devices that have become so out of fashion or that has been broken that we need a new one. What bad things are in them? All types of things for example batteries, circuit boards and lead. Back in the days were there phones like we have in our days now? The answer is no they didn’t it was so simple but when they came boom no one could get it out of there head and it was like I must have this new well every thing now in our days so just think do you want to change things up a bit?. Ask yourself that question.

                                                          Not A Fair Fight,
“Wake up” “wake up” I said in my head. On a lovely Friday afternoon just after a sleep once again I was…. Tortured by my brother Edward and beloved sister Shonagh. They made me and D’jahn fight Edward took my hands and made me punch D’jahn right in the face. Shonagh then grabbed D’jahns hands and punched my tooth out, “Ouch!”. What do we get out of this? I said fearlessly. Nothing. Dad came in the room.
“whats going on in here” said my dad with anger. “ my tooth came out ” I said sadly knowing I will never have my baby tooth again. Edward and Shonagh came back saying, “ can you both ask dad if he can get some KFC please “ they both said with sadness in there eye’s so we agreed to it. “Just this once“ I replied. Me and D’jahn asked and as always it was a yes.

                                                 

                                                             Dinner Time,
Dad came back with KFC. “Now that smells yum if I can say so myself” Shonagh said with a dribble. As always, Edward was playing on his phone. “When do I get a phone” I said depressed. “When you're ready for one” dad replied. “but I am ready for one” I said back to him. “not just yet” dad said with a smile. When dad went outside with Angel our dog me and D’jahn would eat and then Shonagh and Edward came in for some. I was feeding them chips like they were my babies and when I stopped feeding them they went to D’jahn and she would slap them on the head and tell them to go away. A few minutes later this was when the fun had started.

                                                            Junk Food Time,
I thought to myself, How can I get food where is the food ? I know in my brothers room he has a whole heap of food in his room. Me and D’jahn hopped out creeped along the floor as quiet as a mice but to tell the truth mice are pretty loud. I must of been in heaven it was a world of variety full of food and drinks. A few minutes later, I was in the bed sick I knew that I was going to be sick and from there on I never ever went into my brothers room again.

 I will never forget the part when I saw my sister slap my brother Edward on the head, my feelings that day was happy, silly and sad.

Oh No Ants!!

For most of this term my group has been doing a inquiry around reclining I think one of the main parts that we did well was working together as one. Our main set task was to work together and we were successful at this. I enjoined the parts were we had happy and laughing moments.

Te Reo Maori

I am trying to learn how to say basic Te Reo Maori I think i have a long way to go before I achieve this goal but so for so good. I think the challenge in this was to try my best in how far I have gotten myself and how far I can go. I am trying to learn how to get the video on next time.

Solving can be fun!!

This week i have been trying to learn about problem solving.I think I was successful in this next time i do something like this I will be able to do this way better.

This week I have been trying to learn about coordinates and how to plot them. I learned how to read them and plot them, also next time if I have other DLO like this one I think I will be more of a expert at this. I think I was successful throughout this sighed task. next time I will learn how to get my video up.

How do i sound?

 I think I was successful at speaking clearly and loudly, pause at full stops and commas and not rushing on my reading. one thing I need to work on is changing up my speed and sound of my voice.                

84 years and the next day

This week i have been learning to use juicy words and sentences in my recounts.  

• Choose ideas that we can add more information for our reader (feeling, thoughts, what we saw)
• Add interesting adjectives and verbs
• Use language features such as hyperbole, rhetorical questions, simile, metaphor, repetition

   

One Happy Birthday and the next day   

“Yes today it’s Saturday morning” i said to myself. Me and family went down to my grandads house. We went down to say a big happy birthday  Wow 84. And my grandad can still work. I stayed with him until we needed to go home. For some of the day grandad  was painting the house yet 84 and he can still paint. I think that’s a real gift but the worse thing about that he broke  the birthday code. Do you know the birthday law? That means you never work on your birthday yet go on an empty stomach. What a big code he broke for sure!. In luck mum came to be the DA DA DA DAHHH hero!. Did i get you? I know I did.

After we finished we went to go pick up my cousin mya we went home and chilled by the fire watching movies. The next morning we hopped out of bed and dressed while brushing my teeth. Next minute all i heard was“Are you guys ready to go yet!” mum

yelled at the top of her lungs “almost there” I responded. When i had heard her voice i ate as fast as i would like a crazed monkey. For the next 18 minutes I was playing a board game called DA DA DAHHH! Family feud! Sounds like fun right?.  

As normal i won every round because you know me the best of the best. When we got to my maere the lawns they looked awesome and the meare looked better than ever. The first thing we did was go down to the creek mya, DJ’ahn and me. One hour later, after we had finished looking for different rocks. We went for a swim the water. The water felt fresh but the stones were hurting my feet. For those few days i had fun with my family.

Do you like plastic bags?

this week my class has been learning about how to write a persuasive all about saving our environment. I think i was very successful at this but i properly need some more lessons with my teacher. One thing i found hard was adding my emotive words in here. One thing i found easy was that i could write about how to save our environment. I thing i learned was that we all needed to ask some questions about why we need to help the environment. I hope you enjoy my persuasive!.

To be successful I will:

Use rhetorical questions to make my writing interesting
Use emotive language (words about feelings/emotions)

 

Plastic Bags

 

I believe that plastic bags should be illegal because it hurts the environment.

One of the reasons why I say this is because plastic bags create an environment full of worry and concern.

They must be put away for good, so that we are not killing and making our animals suffer a tragic death.  What does this make you feel angry disheartened and more determined to find a way to keep our environment safe.

What is making our environment die?

Plastic bags make up 50% percent as to why  our environment is suffering and much worse. We are making our environment die a tragic death. This is why we must to put plastic bags away for good. So let’s try not to use too much plastic bags but if you must you can try to reuse them.  I know this plan does not sound like much but this will means a lot to the earth and there will be no more rubbish for example plastic bags will no longer be here harming the environment, killing our sea life and hurting our birds.  

In summary, I believe plastic bags should be illegal because it hurts the environment.
