How do i sound?

 I think I was successful at speaking clearly and loudly, pause at full stops and commas and not rushing on my reading. one thing I need to work on is changing up my speed and sound of my voice.                

84 years and the next day

This week i have been learning to use juicy words and sentences in my recounts.  

• Choose ideas that we can add more information for our reader (feeling, thoughts, what we saw)
• Add interesting adjectives and verbs
• Use language features such as hyperbole, rhetorical questions, simile, metaphor, repetition

   

One Happy Birthday and the next day   

“Yes today it’s Saturday morning” i said to myself. Me and family went down to my grandads house. We went down to say a big happy birthday  Wow 84. And my grandad can still work. I stayed with him until we needed to go home. For some of the day grandad  was painting the house yet 84 and he can still paint. I think that’s a real gift but the worse thing about that he broke  the birthday code. Do you know the birthday law? That means you never work on your birthday yet go on an empty stomach. What a big code he broke for sure!. In luck mum came to be the DA DA DA DAHHH hero!. Did i get you? I know I did.

After we finished we went to go pick up my cousin mya we went home and chilled by the fire watching movies. The next morning we hopped out of bed and dressed while brushing my teeth. Next minute all i heard was“Are you guys ready to go yet!” mum

yelled at the top of her lungs “almost there” I responded. When i had heard her voice i ate as fast as i would like a crazed monkey. For the next 18 minutes I was playing a board game called DA DA DAHHH! Family feud! Sounds like fun right?.  

As normal i won every round because you know me the best of the best. When we got to my maere the lawns they looked awesome and the meare looked better than ever. The first thing we did was go down to the creek mya, DJ’ahn and me. One hour later, after we had finished looking for different rocks. We went for a swim the water. The water felt fresh but the stones were hurting my feet. For those few days i had fun with my family.

this week my class has been learning about how to write a persuasive all about saving our environment. I think i was very successful at this but i properly need some more lessons with my teacher. One thing i found hard was adding my emotive words in here. One thing i found easy was that i could write about how to save our environment. I thing i learned was that we all needed to ask some questions about why we need to help the environment. I hope you enjoy my persuasive!.

To be successful I will:

Use rhetorical questions to make my writing interesting
Use emotive language (words about feelings/emotions)

 

Plastic Bags

 

I believe that plastic bags should be illegal because it hurts the environment.

One of the reasons why I say this is because plastic bags create an environment full of worry and concern.

They must be put away for good, so that we are not killing and making our animals suffer a tragic death.  What does this make you feel angry disheartened and more determined to find a way to keep our environment safe.

What is making our environment die?

Plastic bags make up 50% percent as to why  our environment is suffering and much worse. We are making our environment die a tragic death. This is why we must to put plastic bags away for good. So let’s try not to use too much plastic bags but if you must you can try to reuse them.  I know this plan does not sound like much but this will means a lot to the earth and there will be no more rubbish for example plastic bags will no longer be here harming the environment, killing our sea life and hurting our birds.  

In summary, I believe plastic bags should be illegal because it hurts the environment.  

Emotive language

This is my emotive language task and i have been learning how to write emotive language in my persuasive writings i hope you like it.

What is plastic fantastic?

This week i have been reading this book and we are doing a Q and A DLO. The name of the book is called plastic fantastic this book makes me think about our plastic bags and i ask myself are plastic bags a problem? Yes they are so go check this out. it will tell you everything you need to know.

Do you use strategy's?

This is one of my DLO strategy's and i have been learning how to put them in order by using my strategy's. One thing i liked about this is that we could be creative about it i hope you have fun.       

Where does the waste go?

This week i was learning how to use lead Sentences  in my persuasive writing. one thing i found easy was that i knew i needed to ask the readers questions throw out my story i hope you like my persuasive writing.

I strongly believe that we should stop taking our rubbish to the landfill and start using our three R’s. Do you know what the three R’s are? They are reuse, recycle and reduce and we should be using them right now. Do you agree or disagree With this idea? If i were you i would consider saying “yes” because i sure don’t want to live in a huge dump with rats.    

Please consider this for the health of the environment,recycling is the most worse thing we all have a problem with. How are we going to change that? By leaving it for Someone else to recycle for you? Or you recycle it yourself?  How can we stop that from  happening? I know how. We can remind each Other. For example   you can say “hey you forgot to recycle your rubbish” to remind them, so they have a chance to save our world from becoming a dump.  

Let’s stop all stop our landfill from being bigger. Or in other words help our environment from becoming a dump.

Do we want to live in a dump? If you ask me i would say “NO” ask yourself this little question.  How can we stop our environment from being a dumping place?  

 

What you should think about and consider. how can we all work together to stop landfill from getting larger?.  we can cooperate together as a family, and stop our world from being a dump this day on who would like to help make the world a better place for everyone to live on.   

In summary, I strongly believe that we should stop taking our rubbish to the landfill and start look after our environment and use our three R’s.

I am learning how to read data and display it.

1. Why are titles so important? To tell the people what the data is about
2. What information is given on the Y axis?  Tells you what they voted for like compost 9 people voted that.
3. What information is given on the x axis? To share what people voted for
4. How many more people give their waste to animals than for compost? 4
5. Write a statement about this information my statement would have to be 13 people at tautoro school like to give their organic waste to the animals. My next statement is there was 4 more people that voted on give their organic waste to their animals and only 9 people voted on putting their organic waste into the compost . my last statement is that less people do nothing with their organic waste and a person puts their organic waste in a worm farm. So 1 person puts organic waste in the worm farm and 3 do nothing with their organic waste.

What Is This?

this week i have been learning to gather, sort and display information. We wanted to find out what families at Tautoro school do with their waste.

Firstly we created a questionnaire. Then we made tally charts and used google sheets to present the information. One thing I learned about: was that we all needed to cooperate and work as a team to get this done in time  and I learned how to set up a tally charts now I also know its a good thing to have a closed question which is a yes and no on a questionnaire.

Last Friday Tautoro School went on a trip to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

The four places we visited were:

The part of the trip I enjoyed the most was going to james busby's house   

Waitangi Trip    

On friday 2017, me and my whole school went to waitangi and we learnt very many things. My bairn was to full of facts and it felt like my brain had TO MANY THINGS!. And then had  been broken and the facts had been lost and once that happened i had been brainless. But we continued to walk.  We saw so many pretty things and it sure took my breath away i knew i needed to remember all of this.  Guess what i forgot about my note book full of things about waitangi like the waka, flag stuff, marae and james busby's house lucky i had this stuff or i wouldn't  be here talking to you guys. I hope your school day was as good as mine.
